Students and teachers are being forced to attend the Seminar and to make payment for the same

AYUSH department organizes a National Seminar on 16th and 17th February at D.Y. Patil University to throw dust in the eyes of teachers, students of different universities. To digest the money collected from the previous conference, controversial Mahesh Kumar Harit has been given a target of a new conference under the guidance of controversial former director of Ayurveda Dr. Kuldip Kohli.

As the previous program has not been accounted for, now once again National Seminars on “Lifestyle Disorders” has been organized on 16th and 17th February on behalf of AYUSH Department of the State Government, all Ayurvedic Colleges in Mumbai area, Arogya Bharti and again lakhs of rupees are being collected in cash form on this occasion.

As the students and teachers are being forced to attend this program on a paid basis, the organization of the seminar has been handed over to the controversial former director of the Ayurveda department, Dr. Kuldip Kohli and D. Y. Patil Ayurvedic College’s controversial Dean Mahesh Kumar Harit, the teaching staff have expressed their sharp displeasure. Even after Dr. Kohli’s retirement, efforts were made to collect lakhs of rupees to bid farewell to him. However, as the students and teachers complained and the Janata Dal raised their voices, it was time to cancel the program itself.

Now that Dr. Kohli is retired, he has nothing to do with the administration, so there should be no question of handing over the responsibility of the seminar to him. But this program is being used to save Mahesh Kumar Harit, who is in discussion on the charges of fake certificates, and to promote the image of him and Dr. Kohli, and for this, the systems of the Ayurveda Department of the State and Central Governments are being used.

Earlier, on 16th and 17th August, 2017 in DY Patil College, a national seminar on “Diabetes” was organized under the guidance of the then Director of Ayurveda Dr. Kuldip Kohli. All the colleges were given targets for representative registration for raising funds. A fee of Rs. 2,500 and Rs. 3,000 including late fee was charged for teachers, and Rs. 2,000 and Rs. 2,500 including late fee for students. Apart from this, various companies had also set up their own stalls at the seminar venue. Lakhs of rupees were collected from this.

This money was collected thorugh both online and offline systems. A website called www.ayurvedseminarmaha.info was created for online payments, which seems to be closed now. Interestingly, no details about this account were given on the printed information sheet. Also after that since Dr. Kohli had retired, the details of the collection and expenditure on this account have not been released. So no one knows how much money is left on this account.

In order to suppress the details of this account and not to show any balance on anyone, this account is being used to collect the funds for the current seminar.

Interestingly, although bank account details have been given on the information sheet, it is being asked to send a message through WhatsApp on payment money in cash and through UPI. Surprisingly, the name of the seminar this time is “Ayurvedic Wisdom Solution for Lifestyle Disorder” but the name on the bank account has been given as “Ayush Diabetes Seminar” old one only. That is why the old account is being used to hide the previous details of the account and therefore it is being demanded to declare the previous details of the account first.

Mahesh Kumar Harit’s inquiry is pending with NCISM, MCIM, AYUSH Department why he was given the post of Secretary of this National Seminar. As important officials of these departments will be present at this seminar, it is also being questioned whether they can be expected to investigate Harit impartially.

To brighten the image of Mahesh Kumar Harit in the eyes of the D.Y. Patil management and the general public and to give him a kind of clean chit, he has been given the post of secretary of this seminar. In view of his as well as Dr. Kohli’s controversial background, there is a demand from the teachers and students that they should be kept away from organizing this government seminar and the details of the account of the 2016 seminar should be announced.
